Tonight, you may have seen the biggest full moon of the year. My family and I were headed out to visit a family and as we come around the corner, I saw the most beautiful site ever! The moon was HUGE. It looked beautiful placed between the mountains. I was so upset, because I always have my camera in my purse, but I took it out to upload some quick pictures for my sweet sister (she was fixing up my Etsy banner - Thanks, SIS!) and left without it! Boo. So, I decided I just better enjoy it.
The photo above is obviously not one that I took, but it did look just like this, but not so red. We were all in awe.
Did you know that the moon has no light of its own? It reflects light from the sun! Wow. Tonight the sun and the moon were working over-time to give us such a beautiful show.
What sort of things are we reflecting? Do you reflect light? Are others encouraged around you? Do you see the glass half-full?
Believe me. I do not go around with a "life is perfect" mentality, but like my friend Lee says, "Life Is Not A Rehearsal". It is real. You might as well make the best of it. I hosted two blog challenges in a row encouraging others (and mostly myself) to show Gratitude or to Choose Joy. Now, I am participating in a challenge where we are to look for BEAUTY in our daily lives.
I do these things, not because my life is so happy, happy, joy, joy - but because it helps me to FOCUS and give more energy to looking for the positive things. The negative things WILL come, but are you going to let them trip you up and drag you down? Are you going to go around with a dark shadow on your face? I think it'd be better to reflect light, and when things are in the light - things are more clear and can be dealt with...there's no hiding.
The moon was oh, so beautiful - but I found more beauty in thinking about that great sun that was shining on that moon allowing it to have it's big day. What a selfless sun! =]
John 12:46 ~ I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
John 8:12 ~ Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

You go girl! I don't know anyone who reflects light like you do. It is a privilege to have you kick me in my pants every once in a while. Though I am not actively participating in the "beauty" challenge, I think I'm participating in an inactive way - by simply being more aware. Life is, indeed, not a rehearsal :)
What a beautiful picture of the moon. It snowed hard all night here last night and so I didn't see it.
How lucky you were to get a glimpse of it in person! It was overcast here all day, and thus no moon gazing for us. Lovely post!
Do you always have to be so deep? LOL just teasing. I didn't get to see it. wish I did though. I love the moon.
We didn't see it here cause the clouds had moved in ahead of the snow. That is a beautiful shot to share with us. Don't you just hate it when you miss something like that. Like you say though, enjoy the experience and have the memory.
Love the picture of the moon - sorry I missed it. There were lots of pics in our local paper of places lit up by the full moon - but no pictures of the moon :(
I LOVE when the moon looks like that. I bet it was gorgeous, lucky you!! I don't get to look out that much because it's mostly fog right now. Oh how I miss California. PJ and I are thinking of going on a little trip for our birthdays since they are so close and guess the first place we thought of... =0
