Which would you choose?

Beverly, a friend of mine, sent me this e-mail.

During a visit to the mental asylum, a visitor asked the Director 'How do you determine whether or not a patient should be institutionalized'
'Well,' said the Director, 'we fill up a bathtub, then we offer a teaspoon, a teacup and a bucket to the patient and ask him or her to empty the bathtub.'

Which would you choose?

'Oh, I understand,' said the visitor. 'A normal person would use the bucket because it's bigger than the spoon or the teacup.'
'No.' said the Director, 'A normal person would pull the plug. Do you want a bed near the window?'

You know what? These kind of "tests" always seem to get us the first time, don't they? Of course, we are going to choose what seems to be the most logical out of the choices we are given. We aren't thinking that we have any other choice. We don't even consider anything "outside the box". Why is that? Next time you feel perplexed about something or think that there's "no other way"...think again. The answer may be obvious.

So true! And for the record, your security word starts with "s" again!
I'm off to think about my 10 things now :)

The story gave me a chuckle but the message behind it is so very true. Lovely blog, Sherry...I enjoyed your writing and the photos of your cute little guy. Brenda

That cracked me up.. I did think about how I'd pull the plug, but if asked this question right off hand I probably would have failed, lol.

Great point!
