My Daybook...

Meme can be found here at Peggy's site.

FOR TODAY, January 4, 2010...

Outside my window... there's a definite chill in the air - but no worries compared to some of my friends out there dealing with tons of snow!

I am thinking... that I am looking forward to getting back to a regular routine.

I am thankful for... all of the time I had off to spend with my family.

I am wearing... my black track pants, black t-shirt and cozy socks.

I am remembering... how much I love blogging on a regular basis.

I am going... to be making some new Etsy items this week. Looking forward to relaxing and making some fun projects.

I am currently reading... the most recent copy of Artful Blogging and loving every bit of it.

I am hoping... that I can really stay motivated as I hop back on the Paleo wagon...hoping to make it more of a way of life...

On my mind... is the new year and all of the possibilities it holds.

Noticing that... the more I meditate on Him, the more real He becomes to me.

Pondering these words...
"The more I seek You, The more I find You, The more I find You, the more I love You... I wanna sit at Your feet Drink from the cup in Your hand. Lay back against You and breathe, feel Your heart beat This love is so deep, it's more than I can stand. I melt in Your peace, it's overwhelming..." song by Kari Jobe
From the kitchen... grilled, thin cut, pork cutlets with a side of grape tomatoes, mozzarella and balsamic vinegar

Around the house... lots of tidying up to do from the 2 week break at home..
.
One of my favorite things~ my new phone Droid Eris...even though I still haven't figured it all out. haha
From my picture journal...
Here's my new toy! I love this phone and am excited to have everything right at my fingertips!

My Daybook...

You can find more Simple Woman's Daybooks at Peggy's Site here.
FOR TODAY~October 19, 2009...
Outside my window...
It is a bit overcast, but I know the sky is just teasing me. It's going to burn off and be hot again. Maybe a little cooler, but fall just won't come. Makes me kind of sad.
I am thinking...
that my bedroom blinds are hideously dirty. How have I not ever noticed this until today? Probably because I'm never in here during the day. Hmmm...
I am thankful for...
a digital thermometer (for the ear) to take everyone's temperature. Makes life so much easier when they are cranky!
From the kitchen...
Nothing but chicken soup. I may run out and get something later for dinner or have Marco pick something up if everyone is up to "food" food by then.
I am wearing...
my favorite jammies. I have been wearing jammies (not the same ones) for three days straight since we are all sick. I kinda like it!!
I am creating...
lots of things in my head, but nothing tangible at the moment.
I am going...
to be glad when everything is back to normal and our schedules and days are a little more predictable. haha. It almost makes me laugh.
I am reading...
"Leaders Who Make A Difference" by Dr. Paul Chappell
I am hoping...
that we will all be fever-free for 24 hours so that we can get back to school/work by tomorrow. I just hate missing and knowing that there is so much to make up.
I am hearing...
my kids in the living room, all in their jammies too, quietly watching
"The Secret Garden".
Around the house...
there is a lot of anti-bacteria spray, tissue boxes, Clorox wipes, etc. I tried to give the bathrooms a thorough cleaning yesterday and want to keep those germs at bay as much as possible!
One of my favorite things...
is knowing that my mom is praying for me no matter how many miles are between us. I miss my mom and dad so much!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
I know that Taryn has a dental appointment coming up, I've gotta get something sent out to my dad for his birthday and time to start planning a little something for Hannah who is going to be 14 soon!
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

This is Marco and I on Naomi's 4th birthday. My princess is growing up so fast!

My daybook...done at night... lol

You can find more Simple Woman's Daybooks at Peggy's Site here.
FOR TODAY~September 21, 2009...
Outside my window...
All is dark and the light of the crescent moon is all that shines into my window.
I am thinking...
that I can't believe my little Naomi will be 4 tomorrow! Wow. Such a sweetheart.
I am thankful for...
dental insurance for the kidlets. Naomi went for her first visit and will need a little work done.

=[ Glad I am taking care of it now.
From the kitchen...
Nothing going on in there at this time...it's after midnight!
I am wearing...
my black cotton nightgown with cherries embroidered all over...so comfy.
I am creating...
clean laundry and a blog post. That's as far as I can think right now. hehe
I am going...
to bed as soon as this last load is done!
I am reading...
The Great House of God by Max Lucado
I am hoping...
that we'll get an early enough start tomorrow morning so that I can pick up some goodies for Naomi and her class to celebrate her birthday!
I am hearing...
the hum of the drier and somebody snoring deeply in their sleep. =D
Around the house...
there are towels to be folded and laundry to be put away. There are uniform shirts hung over the chairs to dry...
One of my favorite things...
is that tomorrow is the beginning of fall!!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Nay's birthday tomorrow, more butter to be made Wednesday with the juniors, Patch party Wednesday night, dental appts. for Hannah and Taryn on Thursday and hopefully, a chance to relax Friday...
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Here is some bread (bolillos) just out of the oven at our local Mexican market. Why is it that I am never tempted to eat bread - but when I am not having any at all - it looks SO good? I am down 14 pounds though, so all I did was look, take a picture and take in the warm aroma. Not worth a little bread. Nope!

~Simple Woman's Daybook~

You can find more Simple Woman's Daybooks at Peggy's Site here.
FOR TODAY~September 7, 2009...
Outside my window...
The sun is shining hard already. It's 7 am and 70 degrees already!
I am thinking...
that I am really blessed with the most wonderful family. My little boy Marco came and woke me up with hugs and kisses. Is there anything sweeter than that from a 2 year old? I think not.
I am thankful for...
my husband. He is my best friend and we had a wonderful day yesterday at church and I love serving the people by his side.
From the kitchen...
Nothing at the moment, but later will be getting ready for a small Labor Day dinner with friends.
I am wearing...
my most comfortable cotton nightgown that my mother-in-law made for all of us girls. It is a bit faded and worn, but so comfortable!
I am creating...
a list of things I need to do. I want to do some letter writing - it's been so long. I need to get some groceries and post some things on ebay. I need to be CREATING, but that will come later...
I am going...
to breakfast with my family once everyone is up and ready.
I am reading...
only my history textbooks lately... I love them just as much as anything else though... =]
I am hoping...
that the weather will start to cool off and that my beloved fall season can begin. I want so badly to take out my fall things, but it's been about 106 degrees everyday. lol
I am hearing...
my two little ones playing with the hoola hoop from last nights games.
Around the house...
there is much evidence of our special Hawaiian themed Sunday all over the place. We are renting our new location, so all church items get stored here. Hoping to get everything picked up and in order before this evening as we have company coming over!
One of my favorite things...
is all of the fall decor and scents that are starting to get put out on shelves at all the stores.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
We've got school, school and more school! =]
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
We had a Hawaiian theme at church for the Labor Day weekend service. Lots of fun, food and friends. These are my four babies!

For Today...

Go here for more about the Simple Woman's Daybook.

Outside my window... it is still dark, but the sun is just peeking through. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful day.
I am thinking... that I am blessed beyond measure.I am thankful for... my family. Hannah is spending the day at a friend's house and Taryn has been invited to go to the zoo with someone else. I am glad that they get to go out and have a break. They do so much for us at home.
From the learning rooms...the books will stay on the shelves as today is a day off due to the MLK holiday. I was going to have a regular school day and then the girls were invited to go out with their friends....so... =]
From the kitchen... I will be throwing a pork loin in the crock pot for the rest of us - I don't expect the girls to be back in time to eat.
I am wearing... my pj's and a cozy robe...Halloween footy socks...LOL
I am creating... lots of fun stuff! I got several etsy orders for the mailboxes. WHAT?? You haven't ordered yours yet? What are you waiting for? =]
I am going... to relax and take the day slow. Something I rarely let myself do.
I am reading... The Shack. I started to read it, put it down and now I am trying to read it again. It's not my normal choice for reading. A little hard for me to get into, but I hear that I need to read it - so, I'm trying.
I am hoping... to get more etsy orders, to get the girls on target with their goals and finish up plans for the Valentine's Banquet.
I am hearing... the neighborhood dogs barking, someone must be taking their early morning walk. That always gets them going.
Around the house... There is a bit of laundry to do, but for the most part...I will be tending to my crafts and my babies.
One of my favorite things... is when Taryn brings me a cup of perfectly made coffee with the foam on top (thanks to the Senseo machine) and Naomi wakes up and comes directly to me and still in her sleepiest voice says, "Good morning, mom".
A few plans for the rest of the week: I have a few appointments and errands to run, post office trip will be inevitable, watching the Inauguration on t.v. and hopefully staying FOCUSed.
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
Best Buddies - Naomi is so patient with Marco. He often ends up falling asleep like this!

WWII Memorial in Washington D.C.
With a view of the reflecting pool, The Freedom Wall at the west side of the memorial, holds 4,048 gold stars, each one representing 100 dead American soldiers. About 76% of causalities were Army personnel, 21% Army Air Corps, 15% Navy, 6% Marines and 2% Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. Surprisingly, the Merchant Marines had the highest percentage of casualties, close to 4%, slightly higher than the Marines at 3.7%. Over 14,000 airmen, soldiers, sailors and marines also died as prisoners of war. (photo by Jaime Morales, Jr.)

Simple Woman's Daybook ~ November 3rd

For Today...

Outside my Window...it is brighter than it normally is at this time and there is actually cool air spilling in. In feels and smells like fall. Finally.

I am thinking...that I am blessed beyond measure and am glad I started the Gratitude Challenge because it is helping me to find the "little things" that I should be thankful for daily.

From the learning rooms...we will be going over voter registration, voting procedures and will go over my voter pamphlets. One more day...

I am thankful for...so many things. I am thankful for some old friends that I was able to see. I am thankful for forgiveness. I am thankful for a loving, hard-working husband. I am thankful to several families in our church that go out of their way to take care of us and show their love for us.
From the kitchen...I will be looking up recipes to figure out what best to do with all of these little pumpkins.

I am wearing...very cozy, flannel, penguin pajama top and bottoms. No socks or slippers, just cold toes. =]

I am still reading...The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society, the Bible daily and my voter pamphlets more than I want to be reading them.

I am hoping...to find some time to create. Not for a wedding, not for items to sale, not for gifts...just to create.

I am creating...a small chipboard album that will be my Gratitude album for all the things I post this month and I will also create whatever pops into my head once I get my stuff out. I have been aching to just "do".

I am hearing...my two little dogs in the rustling leaves outside. They are both fighting for my attention at the open window.

Around the house...there is lots to do. Laundry to be folded and put away, a water heater that needs to be fixed, general cleaning and picking up that got put to the side because of our crazy busy weekend...but did you read the earlier post? I want to create...not clean. LOL I will see if I can do a little of both. =]

One of my favorite things...is having a friend close by who understands me, who is always there to help, who wants to spend time with me and my family and who loves me as I am. I especially love the kind that leave nice things on my door step to surprise me when I come home. ;]

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...CREATE, vote tomorrow, plan something for my little brown bear's birthday that's coming up in a couple of weeks, do some lawn work, try to plan a yard sale...

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...
Here are my kiddos dressed up for the Harvest Party. Hannah as a nurse, Marco as a little monkey, Naomi as Snow White (a princess, of course) and Taryn as Bath time. So fun!
These are the centerpieces I made for the wedding of Juan and Denisse. Love hydrangeas! I made 18 of these, but only did the double hearts with the grass for the head table.

I am thankful for...for my children - especially Hannah who turned 13 this past Saturday! I am also thankful for my best friend Marco. I was pleasantly surprised when I mentioned the Pumpkin Patch and he was just as eager to take the kids as I was. =]
From the kitchen...two huge pots of pozole for Hannah's birthday get together. One chicken and one traditional pork.
I am wearing...denim clam diggers and a flowered shirt with Halloween slipper socks.
I am reading...The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society...a RAK given to me by Beth!
I am hoping...that I don't get overwhelmed with all there is to do today and that I can enjoy my family and friends most of all.
I am creating...some ideas in my head. I've been reading Stacy Julian's Big Picture and I would like to try the concepts that she talks about there.
I am hearing...my children talking about many different things and Naomi playing a Dora game on the t.v.
Around the house...laundry is caught up, scrapbook table has been put away (for now =]) and I am getting ready for lots of company!
One of my favorite things...is checking my blog to find that someone has left a comment for me!
A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...wishing I didn't have much on the list...but I am preparing for our Trunk or Treat Harvest Party this Wednesday, I still have to choose a song to sing for Juan and Denisse's wedding, meet with my homeschool ES and then maybe take a quick breather before I start thinking about another birthday (Taryn's) and Thanksgiving plans.
Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

I am thinking...that I have a lot of organizing to do before my scrapbook retreat.

From the learning rooms...new books to read, extra math to be worked on and paper work to finish up for the month.

I am thankful for...the first morning cuddles from my little guy. He's still got the sleep in his eyes and it's the only time of the day that he is not on the go, getting himself into some trouble and basically just being my boy!

From the kitchen...grilled pork chops, potatoes, and green beans...yum!

I am wearing...a lovely pink track suit that I received from one of my dearest friends. *Hi Miriam!*

I am reading...The Gift of Honor by Gary Smalley & John Trent I read this many years ago, but am re-reading it and hoping that I will glean something different now that I have been married 15 wonderful years. =]

I am hoping...to get everything organized for my big weekend.

I am creating...more wedding favors. I will be sure to post photos once they are done. The other project I was working on is complete. You can see a picture in my 12 on 12 post before this one.

I am hearing...my little man is fussing because he just got scolded from his sister for trying to get into her things.

Around the house...lots of laundry to be folded - I usually fold as I go and will never let it pile up like this again. We had a crazy, busy weekend and well...you know!

One of my favorite things...is spending time with my husband and children. We've been on the go so much lately, that I miss just being with them. Doing nothing.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...make plans for Hannah's birthday, send off my dad's gift, gather items for our Harvest Party or Trunk or Treat, organize my photos and projects for this weekend, continue working on wedding favors, ... I'm exhausted thinking of it all!

Around the house...a bit of tidying, at least 2 loads of laundry, dishes are done, vacuuming later and a full day of homeschooling

One of my favorite things...is a good nights rest followed by early morning rising, coffee, quiet time and then peek in on my friends in the blog world. All before the children awake.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...make dental appointments for the children, visit to the pick out eye glasses for the two oldest, help a young couple with some details for their upcoming wedding, planning for little Naomi's 3rd birthday.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you...

Little Marco adores all of his sisters, but these two are closer in age and they get along fabulously. Naomi is so patient with him. She really does take good care of him.
