Quirky...to be or not to be...LOL

Here are the rules:
Link the person who tagged you.
Tell about 6 quirks of yours.
Tag 6 fellow bloggers to do the same.
Leave a comment to let them know.

1. I actually like burnt popcorn...of course, I am not talking about black coal popcorn, but I like it left in the microwave just a little more than it needs to be.
2. I can not knowingly buy a magazine or book that has a crease or tear or bend on the cover...I like it to look brand spanking new!
3. I have to drink my coffee out of a particular mug. It happens to be a Starbucks mug that is kind of shaped like a pumpkin. It just "feels" right in my hand.
4. I love to send and receive "snail mail"...it just doesn't happen as often as it should. =] Sad that this is something a bit abnormal these days, eh?
5. I love everything about a brand new box of Crayola Crayons. The smell, the colors, the look of them...it's all ruined once any of them get used.
6. I don't like choosing when it comes to going out to eat. It's just too much pressure. LOL
Ok, I'm sure that I have a lot more quirks...but that's what you get right now...I will now tag:
1. Deborah
2. Esther
3. Tammi
4. Tracie
5. Lita
6. Lisa

Random photos and summers end...
Thought I'd post some random pics from the summer. School starts tomorrow. Where did the summer go? I have no idea, but it's always too short. I had a big 'ole post that I wrote up. It was deep. Lot's of pondering thoughts and what not. Decided I'd sit on it for a while.
Before I get into the photos, I thought I'd thank those of you that stop by and read my blog. I'd love to hear who you all are. How about giving me a little "shout out" that you were here? Some of you leave regular comments (which I love), but many of you just flit through and I'd love to know you better. =] Have a great week Bloggers!
Taryn got a Webkinz and spent a lot of time this summer figuring it out. She's hooked!
Hannah is playing the guitar and will continue lessons at school.
Marco walks and gets some big boy shoes!
Spent many, many hours out here.
Scrapbooking....
Card making...better than idle time, right?
Marco finally gets some of his own toys. No more borrowing the Barbie car to play. LOL
Attended my niece's Quincenera (Sweet 15th) Dedication
Went bowling with Uncle Jaime
Marco's first trip to the beach.
Spent time with friends. This is my dear friend Miriam...
and our dear friends Lorany and Robert
Lots of summer fun with the youth group. Here are just a few of them at my house after a video scavenger hunt.
We finally got a chance to go to the San Diego Zoo. Awesome!
Got closer to my hubby. He's such a hard worker, yet he always makes time for me and the kids!
Amazing Casting Crowns concert. There are no words.

For Carrie...
Well, I was tagged by my friend Carrie and I thought this was a fun little survey (and easy) - so... here goes.
1. Who makes you laugh the most? Hands down, it is my husband. He cracks.me.up. Sometimes, it's not even what he says (although, that's usually pretty quick witted). It could just be a look or phrase. Hilarious. I also have to mention that Steve Carell (The Office) makes me laugh almost every time.
2. Where would you most like to visit? Right now, it would be Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. My sister had her second child and I have not been able to see him yet. I am just dying to meet him and spend time with her.
3. What is your favorite dessert? It's a tie: Hmmm....I don't eat dessert that often, because I am usually stuffed from gorging myself during the meal. LOL When I do have dessert, I guess my favorite would be cheesecake...usually with some sort of chocolate near by. =]
4. What was your most memorable vacation? I would have to say our whirl wind trip to New York, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and D.C. in one week (our anniversary). Yes. You read right. It was a tight squeeze, but I loved it. I definitely have to back one day.
5. When was your saddest moment? There have definitely been some sad moments these last two years, but I think that my saddest moment was when I realized that some friends that I thought I had, were not really friends at all.
6. What makes you mad? Liars, Back biters, Laziness, People with no back-bone...
7. What day of the week were you born? Wednesday
8. What's your favorite flavor of ice cream? I am not an ice cream flavor snob. I love them all. I LUURRVE Dreyer's Peppermint Ice Cream. It is a limited edition flavor that comes out during holiday time (that's good and bad).

What say you?
I rarely talk about my weight loss journey here on this blog, but I wanted to share this with you all. It helped put things into perspective for me. What say you?
Hello, do you know me?
If you don't, you should.
I'm a pound of fat, And I'm the HAPPIEST pound of fat that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why? It's because no one ever wants to lose me; I'm ONLY ONE POUND, just a pound!
Everyone wants to lose three pounds, five pounds, or fifteen pounds, but never only one.
So I just stick around and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice it.
That is, until I've grown to ten, twenty, thirty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it's fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT, left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in, keep right on saying, "Oh, I only lost one pound."(As if that were such a terrible thing.)
For you see, if you do this, you'll encourage others to keep me around because they'll think I'm not worth losing.
And, I love being around you - your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips and every part of you. Happy Days!!!
After all, I'm ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!

ABC's of My Favorite Things....

A- Avacados - To think that I used to throw these away! We had a tree where we rented when we first got married. I didn't know what they were - they looked nasty - I threw them away. The landlord (very nice lady) flipped. She showed me how to eat them and I've been hooked ever since!
B- Books - I love books. All kinds. I could spend a lot of money on books. I know you can find most things on line now-a-days, but I just love having a good book in hand.
C- Chocolate - not just any old chocolate, but the good stuff. Mmmm...especially truffles or caramel.
D- Daddy - I am still a "Daddy's Girl" He is such a hard-working, loving father. I could not ever ask for better.
E- Etsy - It is my newest obsession. I'd like to get up the nerve to start selling on there....hmmm?
F- Faith, Family and Friends - honestly...where would I be without these?
G- Gerber daisies - love them fresh, love them for decor, love them in print----love 'em.
H- Happy people - it's contagious, right? So, I want to surround myself with people that are genuinely happy. Now, we all have our rough times, but you know what I mean. Nobody likes a Debbie Downer!
I- Ice cream - Any flavor will do, but during the holiday season it's Dreyer's Peppermint (add a little bit of hot fudge) Wow.
J- Java - coffee------hot, cold, blended, on ice, as a flavor. Whatever. Bring it on.
K- Kits - I have started buying scrap and card stuff by the kit. I like that everything coordinates. No thinking necessary. Save your brains for the reading!
L- Laughter - the throw your head back, let out a snort, coughing on your spit, gasping for air kind.
M- Marco - he is the love of my life. The best daddy, husband, and friend in the world
N- Nachos - have I mentioned food too many times? All the toppings...wait. hold the onions!
O- Ocean - the view, the sounds, the smell, the action, the calm, the wonder
P- Pumpkins - I would have them out all year long if I could. I really do like all things fall. The colors and smell. The chill in the air.
Q- Quilts - I have a few homemade quilts that I've received as gifts. I find this kind of craftsmanship incredible. I love the colors and patterns, and it brings me joy when I look at them or use them.
R- Reading - see the above post under letter "B". If I am not reading a book (currently reading a couple), then I am flipping through a magazine, or reading a blog on-line. Readers are leaders!
S- Scrapbooking - I know this is a shocker. I feel like I have a little of my mojo back since Desiree came over. I needed a kick start back into it.
T- Travel - I love to travel. By plane, train, or automobile. I have so many places on my list of "must visit".
U- USA - Land of the Free. Home of the Brave. My country. 'Nuff said.
V- Visits - I love to have company over and I really enjoy getting a chance to visit with friends and family when I can.
W- Writing - Not only do I like to write in my Blog, but I also like to write. Period. I like my handwriting, I like to doodle, I like to make lists....which is why I also love great Writing Instruments!
X- X-er-sizing - Okay, so I cheated a little with that one! LOL But, I can honestly say that I enjoy exercising now. Really.
Y- Yummy food - food again. Sorry, but I am passionate about my food. I love to cook and I love to eat. I am learning that my matabolism is not the same as it used to be, so I now have to make better choices. I still enjoy finding tasteful and quality foods.
z- Zoo - I am always amazed by God's creativity any time I go to the zoo or aquarium. Amazing.

7 Random things about me.
1. I love all the colors that remind me of autumn. Browns, reds, yellows, oranges...you get the picture.

3. When given the choice, I choose salty over sweet.
4. I am an Army brat and have had the privilege of growing up all over the world.
5. I can cook just about anything, but do not enjoy baking.
6. I am married to my best friend.
7. I ran a Jr. (Half) Marathon in my younger, more fit days. =]
Okay, so I am supposed to tag 2 other people. I tag Lee and Esther. You're it. Get busy girls!
