My Silly Girl...

Naomi is 4 years old now...some of you think she doesn't talk at all...but she does...and sometimes she will even sing you a song. I love my silly kids! (Be sure to turn off the music on the side first)

FOR TODAY~September 21, 2009...
Outside my window...
All is dark and the light of the crescent moon is all that shines into my window.
I am thinking...
that I can't believe my little Naomi will be 4 tomorrow! Wow. Such a sweetheart.
I am thankful for...
dental insurance for the kidlets. Naomi went for her first visit and will need a little work done.

=[ Glad I am taking care of it now.
From the kitchen...
Nothing going on in there at this time...it's after midnight!
I am wearing...
my black cotton nightgown with cherries embroidered all over...so comfy.
I am creating...
clean laundry and a blog post. That's as far as I can think right now. hehe
I am going...
to bed as soon as this last load is done!
I am reading...
The Great House of God by Max Lucado
I am hoping...
that we'll get an early enough start tomorrow morning so that I can pick up some goodies for Naomi and her class to celebrate her birthday!
I am hearing...
the hum of the drier and somebody snoring deeply in their sleep. =D
Around the house...
there are towels to be folded and laundry to be put away. There are uniform shirts hung over the chairs to dry...
One of my favorite things...
is that tomorrow is the beginning of fall!!
A few plans for the rest of the week:
Nay's birthday tomorrow, more butter to be made Wednesday with the juniors, Patch party Wednesday night, dental appts. for Hannah and Taryn on Thursday and hopefully, a chance to relax Friday...
Here is picture thought I am sharing...

Here is some bread (bolillos) just out of the oven at our local Mexican market. Why is it that I am never tempted to eat bread - but when I am not having any at all - it looks SO good? I am down 14 pounds though, so all I did was look, take a picture and take in the warm aroma. Not worth a little bread. Nope!

Any thoughts on this?

Worth watching. Do schools kill creativity? Hmmmm...interesting at least.

Is this perfect or what?

My friend Sandy also has a daughter named Hannah and she is friends with my Hannah. She came over on Labor Day to have dinner with us and to go swimming. She brought over this basket of oatmeal cookies that she made. She even packed it in this lovely little Longaberger basket and covered it with a dishcloth that she herself knitted. Did I mention that she is only in the 8th grade???
I just love her. A day later I received a handwritten letter (perfect penmanship and letter form) thanking us for having her over and for the good time she had with us.
She loves Laura Ingalls Wilder, Jane Austen and the 1800's. She's beside herself with excitement over a project we are going to do in history class concerning Colonial Times. Ha!
I just love it. She makes me smile.
Thanks for the cookies Hannah. You know I wanted to eat one, but the kids and Pastor Marco didn't mind polishing them off. =] You are an awesome young lady!

~Simple Woman's Daybook~

You can find more Simple Woman's Daybooks at Peggy's Site here.
FOR TODAY~September 7, 2009...
Outside my window...
The sun is shining hard already. It's 7 am and 70 degrees already!
I am thinking...
that I am really blessed with the most wonderful family. My little boy Marco came and woke me up with hugs and kisses. Is there anything sweeter than that from a 2 year old? I think not.
I am thankful for...
my husband. He is my best friend and we had a wonderful day yesterday at church and I love serving the people by his side.
From the kitchen...
Nothing at the moment, but later will be getting ready for a small Labor Day dinner with friends.
I am wearing...
my most comfortable cotton nightgown that my mother-in-law made for all of us girls. It is a bit faded and worn, but so comfortable!
I am creating...
a list of things I need to do. I want to do some letter writing - it's been so long. I need to get some groceries and post some things on ebay. I need to be CREATING, but that will come later...
I am going...
to breakfast with my family once everyone is up and ready.
I am reading...
only my history textbooks lately... I love them just as much as anything else though... =]
I am hoping...
that the weather will start to cool off and that my beloved fall season can begin. I want so badly to take out my fall things, but it's been about 106 degrees everyday. lol
I am hearing...
my two little ones playing with the hoola hoop from last nights games.
Around the house...
there is much evidence of our special Hawaiian themed Sunday all over the place. We are renting our new location, so all church items get stored here. Hoping to get everything picked up and in order before this evening as we have company coming over!
One of my favorite things...
is all of the fall decor and scents that are starting to get put out on shelves at all the stores.
A few plans for the rest of the week:
We've got school, school and more school! =]
Here is picture thought I am sharing...
We had a Hawaiian theme at church for the Labor Day weekend service. Lots of fun, food and friends. These are my four babies!

Just aching to write...

but there's just been so many thoughts in my head!! Don't worry. I haven't completely forgotten myself. I do journal daily - it's just not here. Part of the problem is that I've had some trouble with my personal laptop. Hopefully, that'll get taken care of soon...
We made it through our first full week of school. Everybody has been doing great. Little Marco is even on a schedule there and he loves it.
We all took turns with a 24 hour flu bug, but it wasn't too bad. Anyone that knows me knows that I don't get sick very often. I just don't have time for that. lol
I've really enjoyed being in the classroom again. I am definitely in my element. I know that my children are enjoying school and they are all in very trusted hands not very far from my own classroom.
Our church has been at our new location for going on 1 month tomorrow, but it's funny - it feels like we've been there so much longer! Our congregation is growing and the people there are all working and worshipping in unity. One of the areas that is really booming is our Youth Group. The teens and young college age kids are so happy to be there and they love being a part of everything. It's very inspiring.
I've also finally got myself to a place where I am really making progress with some goals in my life.
I am really focusing my family and those around me. I recently read a blog post by my friend Denise. She talked about Feeling Loved and about helping others to feel loved.
I love doing things for others - I really do - but sometimes, I think I get caught up on worrying if it's enough or good enough or whatever and it holds me back from doing what was originally in my heart to do. I have missed many a birthday gift opportunity or just a plain old "random act of kindness" because I feel like I better add more to it or I second-guess my choice of way to show someone love.
What's up with that insecurity??
Anyway, today as I write this I am making a mental note of the different people I need to send a note to or buy a coffee for...
I've also missed all of my faithful readers here. I know it's my fault for being so sporatic, so one of my other goals is to really stay on top of my blog. I do love being here. It's very comforting to me to write and think.
I haven't been shooting pictures lately either. That'll pick up as we all settle into our schedules and I am more aware of my daily routine.
We've got a big day planned at church tomorrow and then Monday is Labor Day. Marco actually has the day off! We will probably just lay around with our bellies up in the air all day - but who knows? You'll have to check back and see. =] Hugs to you all!!
